Mark Stafford, President and CEO, Delta Solutions & Strategies, Selected as National Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year by U.S. Small Business Administration

Award Winners from across the United States will be honored in Washington, D.C., during National Small Business Week

(Colorado Springs, CO, Apr. 12) -- Ahead of National Small Business Week (NSBW), the U.S. Small Business Administration has announced this year’s Small Business award winners – Mark Stafford, President and CEO, Delta Solutions & Strategies (Delta), a Colorado Springs-based service-disabled veteran-owned defense support services firm, has been selected as Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year for 2023.
 

Delta Solutions & Strategies, founded in 2000 in Colorado Springs, Colo., creates military training products, operations and maintenance, modeling and simulations, and professional and technical advisory and assistance services for the Department of Defense. The defense contractor is currently managing 46 contracts valued at over $370M, including comprehensive management of professional services to US Space Command and dozens of key stakeholders across the US Space Force. 

In 2022, Delta won a $187 million, 5-year contract, making it the primary contractor on US Space Command for professional and technical services. This was the largest defense contract awarded to a Colorado Springs-based contractor in 2022. The contract meant an increase of 167 personnel as well as the addition of 10,000 square feet of office space at Delta’s Colorado Springs headquarters. 

With 315 employees and over 150 subcontractors, Delta hit an annual revenue of $80M in 2022. Delta established operations in Huntsville, Alabama in 2009 and opened a Washington D.C. office in 2022 to support its continued growth to the Pentagon.

Each year, the SBA celebrates NSBW by recognizing the achievements of outstanding small business owners and entrepreneurs across the United States. All NSBW winners, including Delta, will be recognized during the National Small Business Week awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Mon., May 1.
